Dear friends, what do you first think about Laos? Bordering on Yunnan, Southeast Asian landlocked countries, the golden triangle, drug abuse, backward countries, countries with sour mahogany everywhere, countries where people eat cockroaches and spiders, etc... before I have been to this country, my understanding of Laos has almost stopped in these countries. Next, please follow me to enter this mysterious country. Let's slowly experience its cultural landscape and customs. Here I quote the slogan on the Alpine Road: "go slowly and enjoy!"

In order to better understand the local conditions and customs of Laos, it is necessary to popularize some knowledge, local climate and safety instructions online before departure, so as to avoid unnecessary trouble or embarrassment.

The territory of Laos is equivalent to the area of China's Guangxi autonomous region. Among the 11 Southeast Asian countries, Laos is the only landlocked country without sea, Mekong (canglan River connecting Yunnan Province in the North) runs through the whole country from north to south. It is the mother river of Laos. Although the territory is small, it has more than 50 nationalities. Since ancient times, the country is weak and backward in all aspects. It is common to be beaten. Turning to Laos's sad history, Laos has been invaded or ruled by any country for thousands of years. You know, Laos is poor because Because it has experienced World War II, Vietnam War, counterattack war against Vietnam and other wars, it has caused huge losses to the economy of Laos. This is one of the reasons why Laos's economy has not improved so far. What's more terrible is that on November 22, 1968, on Thanksgiving Day, the U.S. military upgraded the scale of the war in Laos and dropped 2 million tons of bombs. Now Laos has a population of 7 million, and an average of three people are threatened by one ton of explosives. Today, 50 years later, innocent lives are still killed due to accidentally touching those unexploded bombs. People who want to invest in Laos are frightened and flinch, This is also an important reason why Laos has become one of the most dangerous countries in the world.

Laos is an inland country located in the north of Indochina Peninsula, bordering Yunnan in the north, Cambodia in the south, Vietnam in the East, Myanmar in the northwest and Thailand in the southwest. It has a land area of 236800 square kilometers and a population of 7 million. The capital is Vientiane. On December 2, 1975, the Lao National People's Congress held in Vientiane announced the abolition of the monarchy and the establishment of the Lao People's Democratic Republic.

The long-awaited annual tourism festival for outstanding employees of the company, the 2019 trip to Laos has finally arrived. On December 25, 2019, our Party of more than 20 people set out today with great longing for the magical country of Laos and a relaxed and happy mood, and began a five-day happy trip to Laos!

On the first day, at noon, we took a tour bus downstairs to Guangzhou Baiyun Airport. At 4:30, we took a plane from China Southern Airlines to Vientiane, the capital of Laos. At 6:30 p.m. Beijing time, that is, at 5:30 p.m. Laos time, we arrived at Vientiane airport, the capital of Laos. The air flight time was about two hours, It is equivalent to the distance from Guangzhou to the south of Huaihe River in China.

There is nothing to do on the plane. Some tourists close their eyes, some look at their mobile phones, and some read magazines... The plane is very quiet. Tourists entertain themselves and take their place. I only heard the rumble of the engine outside the cabin. The plane has been flying for some time. After the broadcast, the stewardess heard a sweet voice: "... Ladies and gentlemen, our plane is about to land at Vientiane Wadai Airport...". After hearing the radio, I knew that our plane had been flying for nearly two hours. The tourists began to feel excited. After all, most tourists came to Laos for the first time, and the tourists began to cheer. I quickly rubbed my eyes, pushed open the window shade and looked down at the ground. The plane flew at high altitude and began to land slowly. It was getting closer and closer to the ground. Dark mountains hovered on the ground one after another. As the plane flew lower and lower, the mountains gradually grew larger and smaller. Then, some curved lines and low buildings on the ground also began to appear, and these curved lines began to thicken. This is the highway in Vientiane. I clearly see that few of these roads are cement roads, most of them are loess roads, and there are no high-rise buildings, let alone crisscross transportation hubs.

The plane is about to land on the ground. We seem to have come to a small town in China in the 1990s. We quickly get off the plane. Compared with the cold weather in Guangzhou, the warm sunshine out of the cabin pours on us. It is like bringing us back from winter into summer. Our thick clothes suddenly become a burden and we all change into short sleeves, Put the thick clothes into the suitcase and feel very relaxed in an instant, two words - comfortable. Vientiane Wadai airport is very small, poor little. Entering the arrival hall, the arrival hall of the whole airport is clear at a glance, that is, there are five or six processing windows. In the hall, I see several short staff wearing clothes such as Lao customs, who say "no photo" to tourists taking photos with mobile phones from time to time When I first gave my family a wechat video in the arrival hall, the staff came over several times and told me not to take photos, so I had to put away my mobile phone and continue to look at the airport hall to see what was special.

It is estimated that there are about 100 tourists waiting in line for the camera, about 15 minutes. We take our luggage out of the airport. At this time, the sky has darkened and we feel more comfortable with the warm summer wind. In the not spacious airport square outside the airport, I saw several old tourist buses. Duan, the local guide, told us: these buses in Laos are second-hand cars eliminated from developed countries. Taxis are rarely seen. Only a few messy tricycles are taking passengers. I looked around. Night had fallen, and the nearby and distant scenery had been integrated with the darkness. I couldn't see anything special.

The outgoing passengers found the vehicle in no hurry. Led by a young man with dark skin and age of 25 or 26, we took a second-hand tourist bus with Korean characters. The dark skinned young man introduced himself as a native of Yunnan. He has been a tour guide in Laos for five years. We sat on the bus, looking at the scenery outside the window and listening to the tour guide's explanation. Our bus is heading for a Chinese restaurant near the Arc de Triomphe. Since we all ate simple meals on the plane, we have no special requirements for this meal tonight, Just like the stir fried food in China, the food was ready and everyone began to eat. We called two bottles of Lao tiger beer. Cheers to the happy journey.

After we had enough food and wine, it was already eight o'clock local time. We got on the bus again. The bus came from the middle of two rows of two storey houses. The street lights were dim, and the low buildings on both sides of the road moved towards us. Occasionally, we could see the five or six storey "high-rise" hotel. The little brother of the tour guide told us, The buildings here are basically five or six floors below. These better hotels and restaurants are basically invested by Chinese people. If it is true that those decent buildings have recruitment in Chinese.

After a ten minute bus ride, we came to the first scenic spot in Laos - the Arc de Triomphe, a building built for the Lao People's Liberation Army to love peace and drive away the invaders. Patuxay is 45 meters high and 24 meters wide. It is located in the center of Vientiane, near the prime minister's office and facing the president's office. It was built in 1960 and basically completed in 1969. It is a large monument, originally to commemorate the victims of the war. When it was liberated in 1975, Vientiane people passed through here to celebrate the victory. In order to commemorate this historic event, it was called the Arc de Triomphe. We only passed through and turned back from the Arc de Triomphe. Under the dim light, we felt the high silence and solemnity of the Arc de Triomphe under the night sky. We walked around for 40 minutes and returned to the hotel to end the day's journey!

When I wake up the next morning, the first thing I do when I get up is to open the balcony curtains: the blue sky, the rustling wind, and the low buildings - this is the capital Vientiane City during the day. Obviously, it is not like a grand metropolis, but more like a leisure town. After enjoying the natural scenery outside the balcony, prepare for breakfast and set off for taruan with Lao characteristics. Tarang is located in the north of watarang temple in the north of Vientiane, the capital of Laos. It is 5km away from the urban area. It was originally an integral part of watarang temple, but because it is far more important than this temple, people usually only call it tarang, which is a Buddhist holy land in Laos.

When we visited the tower Luan, we passed a green grassland around the tower. There was a fence across the grassland. Inside the fence, there were Buddha statues that had been destroyed by the invaders every year. After about a circle, we returned to the gate and waited for everyone to take a group photo. We were ready to take out the banner marked 2019. Within five minutes, the staff on duty immediately ran over and said that we couldn't take photos. We had to put the banner away and plug it at the bottom of the box to continue to visit the holy land.

The whole building of the tower is a gray brick structure, which is composed of a main tower and 30 satellite towers. The tower base has three floors, the bottom layer is 61.30 meters long from east to west and 58.48 meters wide from north to South; Build a worship Pavilion on each side; There are 30 small towers built in the middle layer, which surround the main tower like satellites; The main tower is built on the third floor. The lower part of the main tower is also three floors, which is square, the upper part is circular, and the spire is conical, towering into the sky. The top of the main tower is plated with gold, which glitters and shines brightly in the sun.

In Vientiane City, the capital without high-rise buildings, this golden building is particularly eye-catching. From a distance, Tarun is like a golden treasure in the capital, which makes the city more meaningful and thick. We walked out of Tarun for hundreds of meters and came to the prime minister's office in the capital. This is a European style building complex. We came to its gate. The gate of the prime minister's office was closed and we didn't see anyone going in and out. The guide told us that the prime minister's office is not open to the outside world. Only people work on important festivals. This is like China's Forbidden City, which is a national symbolic building. Standing on the T-shaped highway of the prime minister's office, the prime minister's office, the Arc de Triomphe and the tower Luan are on the main axis. These three buildings are the symbols of the country and the historical witnesses of the country. They tell tourists about the past of Laos... We wander along this main axis and taste their stories!

On the third day, this landlocked country in Southeast Asia, a country where all people believe in Buddhism, although the capital is small, there are many temples. Almost every temple is willing to spend a lot of money to build, especially taruan and Simon temples. Maybe it is related to the suffering history of Laos. It's really hard to be enslaved and plundered. In addition, we can only burn incense and worship Buddha to repose peace in our hearts!

The second stop is to go to the south Russia lake, which is located between the capital Vientiane and the small town Wanrong. Vientiane goes to Wanrong via the south Russia lake. This island is also known as "Qiandao Lake". Its scale and viewing are not as spectacular as the Qiandao Lake in Hangzhou and its historical heritage, but it is also worth wandering in a boat on a sunny day. At about 3:00 p.m., we went to the south Russia lake and chartered a two-story cruise ship for a boat trip. We prepared some fruits and beer ourselves. The fruits were bought at the fruit stall on the side of the road on the way to the south Russia lake. There are emperor bananas, a mouthful of that variety, sweet and delicious. The bananas here are not sold by catty, but 1500 Lao dollars per comb, It's equivalent to 15 yuan. It weighs about ten kilograms, as well as watermelon, pitaya and so on.

As soon as we got on the cruise ship, more than 20 of us scrambled to the top of the cruise ship. The cruise ship slowly moved forward and drove to the center of Qiandao Lake. We can clearly see the small mountains not submerged by the lake in the distance and near. Countless mountains are displayed around us like countless islands one by one, and our cruise ships shuttle between these islands, The calm water was crossed by our cruise ship, leaving some ripples scattered by the breeze, floating far away and to each island. The sun hanging in the West turned into a big egg yolk, sometimes hanging above the mountain island and sometimes hiding on the back of the mountain island; Until the sunset dyed the lake red at dusk, our cruise ship was slowly ready to return. We continued to stand on the top of the cruise ship and enjoy the magnificent landscape on the water surface of Qiandao Lake. We moved tables and stools, took out the prepared fruit and Lao tiger beer, and began to eat. The cruise ship also brought its own karaoke entertainment equipment. It really has everything. Xiaochao and Deng Ma, who are good at singing, presented several Golden Songs to cheer everyone up. Let's raise our glasses together and drink to this happy journey.

At about six o'clock, the sun had hidden behind the mountain island and slipped down the lake. Our cruise ship began to return, breaking the crimson lake and returning to the shore. Back to the south Russia Lake Hotel, there is no shop behind the village in front of the south Russia lake. It is a paradise. It is about 100 kilometers away from the capital Vientiane and two hours' drive from Wanrong. Although it is remote, it is a world that likes gambling. Gambling is allowed in Laos all over the country, and the casino is set on the first floor of the south Russia Lake Hotel, The casino covers an area of several thousand square meters and is divided into VIP casinos, high-end casinos and ordinary casinos. The general casinos are basically some people like slot machines playing chess with machines. Casinos above the intermediate level are all licensed by Lao "Miss etiquette" to gamble on the size or blackjack. The "Miss etiquette" is skilled and generous, In this way, gamblers will put down their vigilance and indulge in gambling with ease.

After returning to the hotel for dinner, we also went to "gamble". In order to attract gamblers, the casino gave each tourist group a coupon, 500 baht. If I didn't gamble, it would be a piece of paper. I also went to visit the grand occasion of the casino. At seven or eight o'clock in the evening, gamblers were crowded. I probably learned about the rules of various gambling, Finally, two group members and I found a gambling shop where we gambled on "big and small". The three etiquette ladies in Laos looked sweet. The three etiquette ladies had a clear division of labor: one was only responsible for licensing, and two were responsible for collecting and losing money... The number of onlookers in a gambling shop was about 20. I observed that seven or eight innings were "small" winners. It was my turn, I pressed the 500 yuan baht coupon on my hand to "big", "buy and leave"... "Big win..." I was lucky and won. The dealer beauty gave me 500 yuan baht and took my coupon away. I took 500 yuan baht and stuffed it into my wallet. Ha ha, stop gambling. I also experienced the happy life of gambling.

On the fourth day, we drove north from Nam Ngum lake along the No. 13 highway built by the Chinese for the Lao people. We drove for more than two hours to Wanrong town at the north end of Vientiane. It is somewhat far fetched to call Wanrong town "little Guilin". It is also steep mountains and bamboo forests, but the water is not as good as many tourists here

Wanrong is more like a quiet town, but it is worth visiting slowly. It is better to be Nansong river than little Guilin. It is also a representative of the original ecology. It is a clear river with groups of fish and shrimp in the water. Because there is no bridge, whether farmers with farm tools or children crossing the river, they roll up their pants and wade across the river, and the return of cattle herding at dusk is not in a hurry. We stayed by the river for less than 20 minutes, and we could see ten people crossing the fast river. What's more interesting is that the red striped children swim in the river together, leisurely

On the fifth day, the Wanrong town in the morning was very quiet and charming. There were scattered houses and some people living in the mountains. When you open the doors and windows of the hotel room in the morning, you can hear the sound of birds and the gurgling water of the Nansong river. Everything seemed very happy. We seemed to be in a paradise. As the schedule could not stay for a long time, we had breakfast in the hotel and got on the bus at 8:00 to prepare for returning to Vientiane. We had already passed this journey when we came, and we still returned along the No. 13 Highway.

We came to Vientiane at more than 12 noon. After dinner, we went to Chenxiang hall and Xiangkun temple in the afternoon. At dusk, we also walked along the Lao Thai friendship bridge and the border line between Laos and Thailand. Climbing the bridge, the small train passed us to Thailand. On the old Thai friendship bridge, we stepped on the land of the two countries and enjoyed the scenery of both sides of the Mekong River at sunset. In this wonderful experience, we ended our five-day pleasant journey.

China China one belt, one road China, one belt, one road, big scale project, has been launched to promote Lao's development and Southeast Asian economic development. The high-speed railway under construction will be opened in two years.
